L’Espace de Structure et de réactions Nucléaires Théorique est une entité sans chercheur permanent, financée conjointement par la DRF et la DAM dans le but de favoriser l’activité scientifique entre les différents laboratoires du CEA. Les principes fondateurs, rappelés lors des bilans annuels ou en session extraordinaire, sont indiqués ici.
Cet espace est en fort couplage avec les expérimentateurs, il est ouvert à tous les physiciens travaillant dans les laboratoires internationaux de physique nucléaire.
Des moyens lui sont alloués pour organiser des projets proposés par les physiciens sous des formes variées : rencontres ou ateliers, réunions de travail, cours et travaux dirigés, accueil de visiteurs de courte ou moyenne durée.
L'ESNT est hébergé par le département de Physique nucléaire (DPhN), sur le site de l’Orme des Merisiers (b.703) du CEA Saclay.
